See the Instructional Video a collar made with metal links. The training collar can also be moved and adjusted on the dog’s neck. If the dog becomes distracted then the handler can move the collar to a high position on its neck (towards its' ears). This position on the neck is more sensitive so caution should be taken here.
this can be used for more sensitive dogs and dogs that have long hair. Training collar links can wear down long haired dogs' hair.

holds the treats around your waist to reward the dog.
Your leash needs to be strong enough for you to control your dog. Rope isn't a good decision for a leash as this can snap with a large dog. (Just a note: you can tell a bit about an owner and the dog by the leash they are using. Unlike you this owner hasn't done their research and probably doesn't know how to train their dog. Avoid going too close to a dog on a rope "leash". If the dog lunges the owner could lose control.) The best leash I have found is a leather dog leash, this will feel better in your hands versus a leash made of cotton and it is strong too.
People often see this as a muzzle but it isn’t like a muzzle at all. A dog can still eat, drink, bark, etc. with it on. Gentle Leaders help control the dog by directing his head and gaze. These take much less effort on the trainers part to control the dog because the dog can only go where his head is going. However it will take some time for your dog to be comfortable wearing the Gentle Leader. Dogs when first wearing them, try to rub them off. Think of how you feel when you first put on a new watch. You can make a dog get used to it by always having him wear it when he is eating. In addition to being able to control his head the Gentle Leader puts slight pressure on his muzzle and back of neck. Pressure directed in these areas on his body shows him who is boss.
