In training one can use corrections. In dog training these are often administered from the training collar. The intent of a correction is to stop incorrect behavior. Timing of a correction is everything and should be given during the unwanted behavior or just as the dog is about to do it. Another correction can be verbal, such as a quick sharp “NO”.
